As I sat in the upper left gallery of the Senate for the Second Impeachment Trial, for my hour and a half opportunity there, observing the opening, somewhat admonitory, prayer, I noted the unbowed, bemused face of Senator Graham,… the detached waiting apparent on Senator Blumenthal’s… But as to a genuine deep reverence or fear of God’s oversight in their coming acts… I noted virtually none.

It was written “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”… But where, when and in whom there is no true “fear”,… and “God” is a decoration of piety, an old tradition barely believed…

Such a “God” says more about the inner and outer social and personal façades in men and woman of Man. Another aspect of agnothi seauton.

There are so many churchy religious, consolatoty babbling claims about those who have “passed away”, ie died, that it is barely possible to have a serious conversation about them and their death into its uncertain, dark mystery.
