At least T.S. Eliot’s “hollow men” had the veracity of being empty and lost. Donald Trump is a fake, a man who is not even hollow… rather essentially as real and substantial as his face paint.

And it is a lesson in the realities of history, society, and average men and women of Mankind, that a man of such superficial facts can have such influence on politics and society., even History.

Rome fell. Trump was President.

Accepting and lauding,while briefly recounting the traditional Easter story, is what still constitutes unquestioned believers social Christianity.

We as sinnera are saved by Christ, or by Jesus, and not by the self in independent inner struggle inside man. Augustine’s one-sided “anthropology”, individualized by Luther.

“We are saved.” Not the inner struggle.

Needed: A history of those who in History woke up to the fact that most of the people around them were asleep.

Including those who wondered about a history of those who were not asleep, but intellectually awake (in one way or context or other.)
