Schiller and the Weimar Populace 
In a museum in central Weimar I recall a display with a quote a quote written the day of the funeral of Frederick Schiller by a leader of the nascent bourgeoisie , when most of the population went to a new entertainment in the nearby park:
…als ob er [Schiller] nicht unter uns gelebt hätte.

Certainly, the English would not finally declare war on Hitler’s Germany with the invasion of another country Poland… The Wehrmacht would take Moscow before needing winter gear…
Certainly Moscow would rule Kyiv within a week or two after February 24, 2022…
