Life Out of History
Very little of human history existed in my youth. Nothing like TS Elliott’s 1922 Wasteland or Walter Lippmann’s 1929 Preface to Morals morals existed, perhaps ever, in that world then. But then, again, almost none of human history existed in our safe life.
