The weak personality of Merrick Garland, and it’s a effect on American and wWorld history.

A history not so much of ideas about human nature, as little- or unquestioned beliefs and assumptions, and their influence on the interpretations of the (passing) ‘presents and pasts and futures’ would be very revealing. 

A waking sleep is so popular that extremely few notice.

Self- and social group-ignorance makes life much easier to live.

When I, sincerely but possibly, attempted to read and understand these in the early 70s, I had little experience and almost no knowledge of the problems and the historie and contexts they were trying to solve.

So, I have long been one of Matthew Arnold’s “aliens”, though I certainly struggled with other words towards it. And I’m not particularly happy with that.

The fact that houses and shopping malls from Florida to California are essentially identical in stores and appearance, is hardly noticed – and certainly not troubling – to people who are similarly so.
