Higher biographies?

By which themes, no, idea(l)s, does one find “the”, if any, higher sense in and to one’s life, one’s biography? Most of course “live, move, and have their being” in traditions inherited vaguely and little questioned. (The latter a kind of spiritual-existential lived sleep.)
