Day 37, To Palermo

Seemingly incidental moments and encounters in my early time in Crotona, lead to conversations, experiences, events, and meetings, which otherwise would not have happened at all. And because they were possible through an attractive, intelligent, educated woman, here, “available” at least enough for conversation and exchange, made all the experiences that more inwardly – if unspokenly – a pleasure.

So far during my travels, I have had three special and enjoyed meetings and interesting periods with women I met by chance. I believe our friendly time together, and with two of them there was not even much if any of a subtle is completely unspoken “physical attractelement… I believe I have three new friends from this trip.

Palermo seems to be like Cairo plus plus

Do you like churches in fact, say that our life outside the church is worthless, St. Louis,

Mount Pelligrini

Once again. No one in the world has any idea where I am except me. Here are the north east side of no Pellegrini overlooking Palermo bay.

On the train, the new train, from Messina to Palermo… Eventually, a nice looking man, intelligent, sat across from me. He put a book on the table… an Italian translation of Freud’s The Interpretation of Dreams. In spite of that after about 15 minutes I spoke to him and we chatted about our lives a bit. He was visibly shocked to learn that I was retired at 70. When I queried him, he suggested I might be 60. And when it came out that I had lived in Russia for 21 years, teaching English and working as an editor… Well, he said you seem to have lived an unusual and interesting life. The stranger knows me most more than most of my “friends”.
